I live in US and wanted to watch Indian TV channels. Searched on the Internet, and found that DishTV is the one with most indian channel at most reasonal rate. I ordered dishTV but later on found that they could not put a dish at my home because of its location.Therefore i again went to internet and searched for other available options.
Found 2 choices:-
1). DishWorldIpTv
2). WatchIndiaTV - Have lots of Bad reviews on Internet.
Since watchIndiaTV had pathetic reviewes on the net, i opted for DishWorldIpTv thinking that since it belongs to Dish network, it would be any day better that Watch India TV. Even though there were no reviews available on net about it.
I ordered dishIptv having full faith in Dish.
I got a set top box which i connected to internet and instantly all the hindi channels were there of the package i choose.
The quality was good, and it worked fine. I was happy and even though it was costlier than WatchIndiaTV i did not think about the money since for me, peace of mind was more important than anything else.
But i did not know that this peace would not last long, and the after a week since i got the set top box, it started hanging(the picture on the tv froze), would hang 2-3 times a day, and if i restarted the set top box, then it would work fine. I did feel bad about it, but then too it was ok with me.
This continued for a week like this, but later this retrieving data, and picture hanging exagerated to a great extent that it was immposible to watch the TV, and now restart of the set top box also did not help .
Therefore i called the dishIpTv technical support number, and the experience with them i want to take few words to describe it:-
1). Bunch of very smart people who know how to fool you.
2). Have absolutely no basic manners how to talk to a customer.
3). Give such wierd explanations that you want to throw you phone away.
4). Will blame your internet service provider for the issue even before trying even a single thing.
5). Will send you a long email, asking you to run tests on your system, and when you send them the results, you would not get any reply unless you call them and shout on them.
I dont want to write the full story here, but overall i was so disappointed with Dish. I could not believe that they would do this, or may be because the call goes to a another company neulion, which i guess is providing service for them.
but any ways i wanted to get it disconnected, but customer care told me that you had signed a 12 months agreement for it. I was so angry that i signed the contract but that would be valid if i get a proper service, if i am not getting any service what is the validity of this agreement.
After fighting for many days, i somehow got to their manager, who tried to help me by sending a replacement set top box. I got the new set top box and connected, and the issue was resolved, and
i was happy again, and tried to think positive, that now there would be no issue again, and i would somehow continue 12 months without any issue.
But the 2nd set top box worked fine for 20 days(suprisingly) and later had the same issue again.
Today i am writing this blog, so that anybody typing dish wold iptv review in google do get my blog and learn somthing from my expreience, and i really hope that you don't order this, since
its very new in the market, and These people would take time to learn something, better try them after 100 year.

ReplyDeleteit is fine, but in case you run into some issue, believe me the customer care is really patheic. Since you live in US you soon get used to speak to well manered decent sales Reps, but when you call dish iptv customer care, it direcly connects to india, and the way they talk and answer you, would leave you nothing less than frustrated. Better watch indian tv episodes on internet or go to dishTV (not dishiptv).

Thanks for the review. There isn't much feedback available on this service over internet. I was planning to opt for this plan but it's good that I saw your post. I agree with you about professional etiquettes. I have some experience with these guys and it seems they haven't even received basic courtesy and etiquettes training. They don't know anything and their sole motive is to get money out of your pocket.

ReplyDeletei got the dishnetwork iptv, it's an awsome experience. i am happy with the product especially when i had an issue and called the customer support, they were very helpful and resolved the issue in no time. one thing is that the working hours are not enough i suggest to be 24 hrs service.

ReplyDeleteThe problem is not just the bad customer service, and ill mannered customer reps. The issue is also that the channels like ZeeTV, Sony, Shara etc donot show the same TV serial as in India. There are very few TV shows that are being repeated the whole day. In short not only the service the contents also sucks.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Jammy, The only solace I have is that I was able to watch cricket world cup [I think I should still have gone to other options online]. Right now, the box is a junk in our house and we are forced to pay every month, because of my mistake, I didnt purchase the box upfront.

I have an issue where big trees around my property is preventing dish from getting indian programming. So I was thinking of getting an IPTV.

Mr Patel, Seems like you did had good experience with world IP tv... can you provide more details like are the programming live as it comes in india or they are replays... Also, whats the bandwidth usage every month...
Yes, Dish world IPTV is a cheat, they have no clear policies, and you would get stuck for 12 months if you buy it. One very important thing to note for everybody who is planning to buy this - the shows are not same as what is shown on India on the respective channels, you would be shown 2-3 years old shows, which would be repeated the whole day. Not only the service the content also sucks. I got this because i could not find any single review on this, and bought this thinking that Dish would be better if not worse but soon i faced the reality.

Patel, either you work for DishWorldIptv or they are giving you money for writing these reviews. Your previous comment does not make sense. Did you try googling the login page?. Why is that it is not shown in the google and you need to call the customer reps for such a small info?

People see my IPTV demo unit and are happy with the quality and clarity. I have sold hundreds of IPTV receivers without people coming back to me complaining. As a matter of fact, I have been getting so many referrals from existing satisfied customers.

I am really p.. off with Dish IPTV and not recommend anyone.Not only because of its pathetic customer service(Major reason) but always because of its poor setup box also.
Do not waste your time and money. I cannot call their IPTV a "Service" nor I would call their setup box, a "Set top box". My IPTV box is a piece of junk, sitting idle. BTW, if you call their IPTV box, there are no words for remote!!. Only few buttons are useful(when it works). Rest are not even activated!!! The burger king kids toy has more features than this remote ;-)

Then I called their customer care and asked why no reviews available they were so pathetic in their comunication and have no answers about reviews.Finally I did not bought it.

I completely agree with every single point. I have dishworldiptv for the last 2 months and have to reboot my set top box every 3-4 hours. The guide is off by a few days and I run into buffering a lot on every channel in the evening. Even though I have a 12 mbps line and Netflix HD and Hulu HD work just fine, this piece of crap buffers. So I think dish network cheaped out and doesn't have enough bandwidth to serve more connections in the evening.
ReplyDeleteCustomer service extremely pathetic. One rep even went to the extent to tell me that there is a known bug in their STB that it needs to be rebooted every few hours. He didn't seem to think it was a big deal and wouldn't let me through to his manager since the manager was in a meeting until 5pm EST and would be available only after the weekend.
Thankfully I didn't sign up for a contract, but paid $120 for the STB.

ReplyDelete1. Yes, the video used to hang a lot (buffering!) after about a week of using it and restarts wouldn't help.
2. Yes, the website is a joke. I had to search like crazy to find the login page to check statements and pay bills (which for some reason has to be in a monthly recurring form!).
3. Yes, pathetic customer service - no basic etiquettes. They would ask to furnish the internet speed (using various portals) and then wouldn't even reply back.
OK, NOW THE POSITIVES AND TRUST ME, THERE ARE SOME WORK AROUNDS! I found them out while exploring the digital converter.
They may work for you as well. No harm giving a try, if you haven't done that already.
1. Press the "Guide" button and see if its giving you your local US time. The buffering seems to be much higher when the time is not the same. This can be reset by - Pressing "Home" and then scroll left to "Settings" and then "Personal Settings". Even if it shows the correct tiemzone, select another one and then select back your local time zone. Press "Home" to got back to main screen. Now, watch your channels. This helped reduce "buffering" significantly for me.
If this doesn't help, you can also select "System Setting" instead of "Personal Settings" and deselect DHCP (by selecting Static IP) and then select DHCP again for the box to set your IPs. Then go back to "Home" and try watching your channels.
2. Login page to pay bills, check statements --> https://orders.dishworldiptv.com/myaccount
3. Well, no work around here! they are indeed pathetic.

@Mantavya indeed you have written a great blog, you won't believe there were few DishIpTv customer reps also responding to my post , writing good comments about the service, and how i found out was the email id was same as from one of the reps i had talked to. If somebody has any doubt for this service, please call the customer service number, and i am sure you would see how poorly trained these people are, and utterly have no respect for the customers.
ReplyDeleteI received my new box about a month ago, they sent me their upgraded box and so far it's great. They told me it's not a HD service, but heck, the picture is so clear that I am doubting it's not HD. I have no idea why people are not happy with their boxes. Hey, if you have a good internet speed, you shouldn't have any problems. Personally, I had a good and friendly customer service rep attending my call. I called only once to upgrade my package to the Hindi Mega pack.

ReplyDeleteI bought Dish Mega hindi pack and satellite connection,they tied me in 2 year contract.Now it's just 9 months and a few of my channels were missing.After a few days, I got to access just a few channels like 5 or 6 out of 21 or 22. Now they say that the missing channels have been moved to new satellite and the signal cann't reach to my building. How come because lot of people in my community r getting their channels. Now they asked my that I've to go for IPTV. The reviews r really bad. And I expected the same, how come you can hav same quality of channels from internet. May be I've to miss my channels. But that IPTV customer care is really pathetic. I called them to have some info and I think the guy was sleeping. He asked me again n again to repeat what I said. And sometimes He got quite, like someone hang up the phone.And then asked me again to repeat what I said.

ReplyDeleteIf you think you can watch TV peacefully after you come home then you are highly mistaken. This works well during the day time but during night time it is worst, SONY, Zee nothing works. It just keeps showing Retrieving message and ultimately you will be frustrated with the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteI thought it would be a problem with my internet speed so stopped doing Laptop surfing when watching TV, I even changed my internet to Boost i.e. 50Mbps speed from Cablevision and later as a last resort called the tech support from DishworldIPTV and the standard answer you get is ok, we will have your mac address traffic re-routed and nothing happens. I have been a customer for 5 months since world CUP I wouldn't advice anyone to go for it atleast at this point of time. If things improve I will post again positively, for me I am stuck with a commitment of 1 year.

point 2: on 10/13/2011, i am trying to call them since last one hour but they have kept the phone off the cradle i think so no one is even picking the phone.
point 3: I am also waiting for the chat person to be online on http://helpdesk.neulion.com/visitor/index.php link but it is showing this message around 10 times "Your request is important to us. Please wait, an operator will be with you shortly."
point 4: to the person above who showed the link of our account, that link doesnt show what subscription we have and how we can cancel it. now the only way to cancel the subscription is to call this number, and they dont pick your phone, so in short u cant cancel the service.
point 5: after being on this service for few months we are tired of watching pixeleted picture and want to move back to comcast. we picked dishtv because of colors channel that my parents like, i wish i has seen this blog before selecting dish tv. now when i try to cancel they say u need to pay 20$ multiply by total months of pending service under contract, which is not good. anyways we decided to go ahead and give that money and get done with this rather than paying $45 per month for a year now.
point 6: my wife called them today to discuss this, she later told me she should not have called as the people were super rude to her and didnt talk properly so she kept the phone as she didnt wanted to talk to them.

We just took the DISH IPTV and are still in the trial period. Their customer service sucks so does their IPTV service. When I called them and took the subscription one week ago, I didnt know that their trial period starts from the day of shipping...so when I received the box and connected it. I then called the customer service and asked them till when my trial period will run and I was told I had 8 days(no exact date here). I was shocked and told them about the 14 day trial period and I was told that it starts from the day of shipping...what do they expect me to try when the product is being shipped? I was really upset and asked to speak to their manager Jerry. When I got on call with him, I told him that nobody mentioned to me that the trial period starts from the day of shipping and I had to ask questions in turn. All that they were interested in was my credit card. I was astonished to hear the manager blast me instead and tell me that his team can never do anything like that and he can listen to the voice conversations and prove that I was wrong!!!! I was shocked to hear the manager say that a customer is lying???? I was very angry with him and asked him if he is trying to say that I am lying and told him I dont want to use DISH IPTV only for their customer service. He said that they have thousands of customer's who have no problem with the service and told me indirectly that they are not going to lose if I am not their customer...I am still in the trial period and I will cut the connection off on friday although my trial period ends on monday. I cannot have a service where the customer support people cannot talk with respect to their customers!

Hi Aruna, i too had the exact same issue, when i was told that the
ReplyDeletetrial period starts from the day of shipment of the STB, i felt so
stupid at that time. DishWorldIptv seems to be run by another company
called Neulion, and since they know all the Desis order it, they least
care. Not only their customer care, but also the content shown on TV
sucks. We get 2-3 year old tv shows, filmfare events which you would
never want to watch. One show is repeated around 5 times in a day on a
channel. It is not worth the money, better go to bhejafry.net and
watch all your programs.
I never tried to contact DishTV to complaint about it, but you can try
it and post here what you hear from the.

thank god I read this blog...one comment ... initially when this blog shows up on google, I thought its a blog managed by Dish, so didn't bother to come here before...but as like many people said, there is no other place where you can read reviews. Good that the original author wrote this blog....Dish TV is a scam and a crook!!!!! And so is DirecTV..My personal experience has been good with Time Warner Cable as they don't have any contract...but alas, they don't have as many channels as DirecTV and Dish does.

I am glad you created this Blog, I use to be a field manager for Dish Network in Los Angeles and all i can say is that Dish has the worse costumer service is USA, it is nightmare even for his own technical field crew, don't let them use you to test their equipment and YOU have to pay for it, takes long time to their devices work ok, and if you don't speak Indian language, good luck because that is where you end up when call costumer service.

We got the iptv a week back it works very good. Picture is very good. Only problem remote has to be in front of box then only it communicates properly. Remember one has to have internet with speed at least 5 MBPS then only it works properly.

Hi Rajesh, few points to note about Dish World IPTV :-
ReplyDelete1). It is nowhere same as DISH TV. There is a company called neulion which runs this service.
2). Its setup top box is not a dvr.
3). The shows are not same as DISH TV, also the shows are not same as what are shown in india on the same channels. What you woud get few programs repeated 3-4 times each day and very old award ceremonies and outdated programs.
4). I don't know if you know or not, you are given only 7 days to disconnect the service without incurring the Eearly termination fee(FTF), and those first 7 days start from the day when your settop box is shipped to your home. That means when you get your settop box you would have only 1-2 days to decide.
5). In case you have this service and don't like it, and don't want to disconnect since you don't want to pay ETF. You may choose the cheapest plan of 2 channels that costs a whopping $30 (including taxes).
Can someone tell me how is this service different from Jadoo. Since the programming is not the same as dish network and appears most of the shows are recorded and repeated. I really miss my dish but had to cancel due to the new satellite location. I want to replace what i have but these iptv services appear not to even come close. By the way i have Jadoo so am i getting anything more by getting dish world. I really would appreciate your input. thanks

I am not saying its perfect but it has got better. I have been using this for more than 4 months now. As many already said its customer service sucks. I had the same experience. But last time I called them (they lowered the pricing to 45 from 59 so had to fight about it), it was in US to the DISH customer service, not to the call center in India which was a relief. Only thing I will say to anyone buying this is gotta have a very high speed internet around 12-15 mbps...when its on, it slows down every other device in the house. I dont agree with some of the comments about the programs here..Comcast channel guide showed me the same show I was watching on dish iptv (only checked for sony, zee, star tv/one).

ReplyDeleteyou must have a 20 mbps download ( 10 mbps is ok too) and 1 mbps upload. mind you it's not the download which is imp, it's upload which is the most important factor for any online streaming.
how many people use Torrents service here, I promise the number will be very high. Do you know even you are not downloading anything and your torrent client is closed, it will still steal your bandwidth.
and thats the core issue.
I have the same service with 20 MBPS hardwired Ethernet and I have connected a Slingbox solo with my set top box and not only i watch uninterrupted hindi channel, but all the channel is on my iPhone and iPad on 3g with no buffering.
I was just searching for Ind vs Aus live package and happen to find this blog and could not stop writing.
dish owns sling company and thats how they are offering this streaming service which is nothing new to me as I am using Sling for very long time and that's why I know the problem is not dish service.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to just say this and save many people their time and money.....Dish IPTV is a joke!!!! You call their customer service number and you get the run around about whom to speak to regarding technical issues. Then you call the number on the bottom of your statement and it transferrs you to a general voicemail. Are you kidding me?!!?! If by some miracle you do get someone to speak to regarding your technical issues......prepare yourself ahead of time with a massive dose of Advil. The "customer service reps" are a joke. They just say whatever they "assume" to sound intelligent. Hoping that you buy their crap. I'm stuck with this ridiculous service until May.....as of right now my Dish Iptv doesn't work. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!

ReplyDelete1). I have it but have not watched it since last six months, yesterday when i turned it on, it did not work, and the STB was not able to get the connection even. I tried to check all the connections but all in vain. But i did not dare to call their customer care , since i know it would be a total waste of time.
2). I am just waiting for my one year contract period to get over and would get it disconnected.
3).For those of you who want to know the content of the channels, let me tell you it sucks. Each channel has only 3-4 tv shows that get repeated one after another. On weekends you would be shown very old TV award functions. I have just 2 channels(the minimun i can keep) for a whopping $30.
Please call their customer care service and get the taste of their service before making any decision. It would be lot easier for you to make a decision wether to buy this thing.
And last thing, don't get fooled by beliving that since it contains DishTv the quality of service would be good. I feel in the same trap.

ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for my contract to expire. I will cancel the first instance I can. I cannot believe that dish network would want their name to be attached to this piece of s**t. The customer service reps do not have the brains to understand their own system and explain it to their customers. They also lie about their service. The program guide is messed up and they keep blaming the networks but if a customer complains they should look into it themselves. The reps are just a bunch of ignorant and lazy people who make Indians look bad.

Which will allow you to surf the web and go to eduniya.com and many other sites to watch all programming which gets upload within few hours after it is shown in india. I finish watch all serial i follow by 1pm no need to watch at night as was the case with dish network which i dropped after i could no longer get a signal. In fact all serials shows are from inception on many web sites the star plus hd shows are stunning quality. I also have Jadoo box but better you spend $100 and get Logitech revue. good luck avoid IPTV spend the $100 and you will enjoy it trust me.

ReplyDeleteThinking of getting dish iptv for hindi and urdu package. I dont have clear line of sight to 118W sat. The IPTV package price seems like couple of bucks lower than DN satellite hindi and urdu package, but the iptv has fewer channs. I am kind of desperate since I want all hindi channs, and my local cable carrier has no indian/pak channs. I see alot of complaints against the customer service, but I will test this by calling them myself. I have 15mbps download speed, which should not be a problem for watching streaming stuff. I will update once i decide to get dish iptv.
ReplyDeleteOrdered their Hindi package on Jan 23d 2012 as it was decently priced for the number of channels it provided. Cancelled it on Jan 26th 2012. Luckily they will just deduct the restocking + shipping fee. Let's see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteCould not bear to watch it for more than 30 minutes at a stretch. It is still okay to view channels during non-prime hours. If you want to watch at, say, 8-9PM, forget it. Either you will get "service unavailable" message or it will skip audio and video at random.
I have a 15 Mbps internet connection and iptv box was connected through the provided ethernet cable, not WiFi. Can't even imagine how it will be to watch a important cricket match with such a pathetic streaming service.
Glad they have a 3 day cancellation policy to get out of the contract.
dish network they are lair ,this iptv very bad service and this just keep cutting off . do not get it very bad . they sign up for 1 year , they tell you have 5 days to try it it might work fine . do not sign up iptv .

Cons: 1. Lot of buffering in evening. When you call them they ask to call back at the moment when you are facing problem. The problem is buffering keeps on coming and going. When you call them while buffering. They will send one email to test your internet. That is of no use. I am having Cox 23 Mbps speed and believe can not get higher than this:(
2. Sound goes off very often. You need to change channels to get it back.
3. Very poor customer service. Not all agents know their services and fees.
4. You can not get your money back/credited, even if its their mistake.
Overall not recommended unless you desperately need it. In past I had used their satellite service and it was much better than IPTV.
Please do not opt for the DISH IP TV..go for it, if it is only the last option in this world..Customer service is pathetic..

ReplyDeleteHORRIBLE service! There is no way in hell this should be considered by anyone. Constant freezing (2-3 times a minute). My aunt got one of these because she moved into an apartment that had no good placement availability for the actual Dish satellite service, so they told her about the IPTV. Sounded great so she ordered it. For the first few days service was good, picture clear, speedy menus...etc. But after that it's been an uphill battle with customer service. Hour long calls lead to nothing, absolutely nothing. They run circles around your questions and make you look like you have no idea what your talking about. any problem you tell them about they blame the service provider. She has a 10mbps speed from ATT.....it's a mind blowing speed. She doesn't have anything else connected to the router....no computer, no iphone, no ipad. So ALL the speed from the router is going to the IPTV garbage.

ReplyDeleteThey say that retrieving happens because multiple devices are connected to the router. All the devices according to them needs to switched off if live TV is to be watched. Weirdest thing I have ever heard off. This is when I have 25Mbps on wired network...... wireless speed is 10Mbps.
Well I had the same experience earlier and customer service is pathetic. They would ask you test your internet with speedtest.net but finally wouldn't do anything with the results sent. I did my own research later and found that IPTV kind of box need high speed modem from comcast or cox providers. Also I was paying like $7 a month to lease a modem from comcast, so I ordered my own. I ordered "Motorola SB6121 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem". It's 3 star rated on comcast approved modems. Since then dish iptv is working fine. It doesn't hang at-all but I get retrieving 2%-98% once or twice a day which last for like 3-4 seconds. I can manage that rather not having Indian channels at-all. This retrieving comes when Internet is really slow once or twice a day.
ReplyDeleteI am one of the victims of dish tv changing their satellites to west and I ended up losing all my indian channels on regular dish tv. After reading this blog, initially i was hesitant to order this box. I deliberated for over 6 months as negative comments simply got pouring in. Finally, I decided to take my chances as I was sick of watching HGTV, Food tv, FX back to back for over 6 months. I had done enough research to ensure that I had the right settings in place order to avoid the buffering, like setting timezones to my time zone etc. This box indeed requires lot of bandwidth so if you use their wireless stick, it won't work. You will need a minimum 12MBPS connection and you have to have a physical connection to the modem/router using a cable. I am using ATT UVerse, so they by default provide a high speed modem.

So finally I decided to jump in despite all the BAD reviews and think it was totally an unwise decision!
ReplyDeleteAlot of channels get stuck, buffer and audio and video go out of sync. And oh ya, if you skip scenes and clips within the shows/movies/music, don't be too surprised. That's what this is all about!
And don't bother calling customer service, they have one standard template of comments 'Check your speed at bla and bla website'. What idiots, they think we would order this piece of crap if we were on dial up???!
Even with the 25 Mbps upload and download dedicated FIOS connection I have, it seems it's too low for them. Whereas NetFlix can stream HD content without a single hitch!
The problem actually is at their shitty servers, which can't handle load for shit! And it doesnt even look like they are doing anything about it. They simply dont care, as they've already made the money they wanted through the cancellation fee.
So advice, if you want to try it out, rather pay up $100 for the device upfront so u can cancel this service when you want (which you for sure will!).
It's just sad there are no better competitors out there and this is exactly what these guys are riding on!

ReplyDeleteI subscribed to dish IPTV a year back but due to its pathetic and shitty service i disconnected but recently my friend told me that its working fine for him so, I again subscribed back but I am cursing myself why I did that for such a F service.Top of that these guys convinced me of spending $100 for new box with all the issue resolved.I am really an ASS but you will be also become the same if after reading all these your still want to try and want to waste your money.Also one more thing the friend who suggested me is also in the same position good for him:-)

I called and ordered an IPTV box on web. The tech was nice enough, not rude as many complain here. He said I have 15 day money back guarantee. I can send back the box in 15 days if I don't like their service. I guess I'll bit and try. I didn't buy on a contract.
ReplyDeleteTalked to the customer rep over the phone, they were not overly friendly but at the same time very frank and to the point which I like. I inquired about the 15 day return policy and the response was satisfactory. Later I ordered for the receiver box with the one year contract. The box arrived in 2 days. Setting it up took less than 2 minutes. I have the hindi premium pack. Checked all channels - all working well. Have been watching for over a couple of hours, no problems at all. Quality is good, not great (like HD) but satisfactory for watching hindi channels! I didn't have the remote issues like other have reported i.e. the remote doesn't need to be pointed right at the device and it still works just fine. I have hard wired the dish box to my router and I have the optimum cablevision boost plus internet i.e. 56Mbs down and 9Mbs up speed. Will update you guys if the experience worsens. But so far so good...
ReplyDeleteTotal Crap dish iptv. No service always buffering. They accept that there's problem with their channnels and still wont do anything. If I ask for refund as there's a problem on their end....simple reply they can't refund any money as its known issue and they are working towards to resolve the issue. They would not resolve the issue and wont refund money. So the way out is to cancel your contract and pay huge amount as cancellation fee. For any new customers....this is absoulte piece of crap. NEVER EVER GO FOR DISH IPTV. BIG FRAUD.
ReplyDeleteJust providing an update to my post on April 6th. So by now I have used all channels in the mega pack throughout the weekend non-stop. I literally kept it on all night. I will admit that the software for the set top box is a little qwirky i.e. once in a while you have to restart the device for everything to start working properly especially if you are going back and forth to watch recorded shows. In case you didn’t know, you can watch recorded shows for up to 2 days which I think is a great feature especially if you don’t know the timings of your favorite shows. Another issue I noticed was that the box I got didn’t have the wifi feature. I could only hard wire the internet. This was ok for me as I was planning on hard wiring it anyways but disappointing as the website said something else. I called them nevertheless and they said that they have found an issue the wifi box and hence sent me the one without the wifi. They said in 4-6 weeks they will sending new boxes to everyone.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the buffering issues everyone is posting here I haven't seen any of it yet. Not even once. I have watched live matches on Ten cricket, watched all shows/movies on a variety of channels. Just to stress test it, I was voice chatting with video on skype with folks in India while downloading a large file on the pc and keeping the dish set top box on at the same time. No issues at all. I really think that the issue is the internet speed. As mentioned earlier I have the optimum boost plus and I think it makes a huge difference. As these are live channels aired over the internet, the speed has to be pretty good. I don’t know what’s the exact internet speed that would make this work but I have a feeling that the requirement is higher than what dishworldiptv is ready to admit. Bottom line I am very happy so far and if anything changes I will update everyone once again.
What a rip off. I don't know people say it works flawless. I returned the cursed box a week after I had enough with it. These people rip off Desi folks, just like other phony iptv companies. They all have buffer problems. I have optimum boost and I made sure not to use any other downloading program with internet. Connected the box directly to the modem. Absolutely no difference. Restart after restart.... If you get this service, be ready for endless restarts.

@Gaurav - stop making silly baseless allegations. I am just giving me experience in this highly polarized forum. Looks like you just want to read posts of frustrated individuals like you. You should create your own forum for - "frustrated people like me" so that you get all the sympathy you need rather than coming to "Dish World Iptv review" as this one is titled. I have watched hours of movies on B4U Movies and also shows on Sony just to see if I had problem, but nothing so far. My guess is that the customer rep is not knowledgeable enough and is just making up the same excuse "It’s a know issue" for every channel you call them about. As I said earlier, I have optimum boost plus (over 50Mbps down) and the cable box without the wifi option and I have had no issues whatsoever.

The B4U's and Sony is a known issue....see the posts by other users as well. That started on March 27th or something and still continuing. Probably, only 1% of the users have 50 Mbps If their channels work on 50 Mbps then why don't Dish IPTV tells customers that it requires 50 Mbps. who would then go for dish iptv paying $140 per month on internet and then $70 to get channels.
@Gaurav - Optimum boost plus costs $45/month which for me is pretty reasonable for the speed and quality of the line. Given that I haven't faced any issues so far the issue for others has to be either the required internet speed or the cable box itself. If the issue is the internet speed then I agree with you (and I have already said this in one of my previous posts) that they are clearly underestimating the required speed and also misguiding customers by saying that 1 Mbps is enough. Regardless I have no need to post my experience but just thought of writing coz my experience was much different than most people here. Would have definitely not bothered to do it I knew that there are people here like you who will get contentious just to remove your own frustration with the service. Grow up.

ReplyDeletewell..I got the receiver. The streaming was ok. I can stand a few buffering here and there. However, the IPTV box itself is possessed. It turns off spontaneously and sometimes would say "service unavailable". I ordered a replacement box. The other box is doing the same. I guess we are the sheeple dish iptv is experimenting on with their first generation iptv box. They need to get their act together and update the boxes. I now have to deal with looping box which turns on and off in a cycle on its own. Sometimes it would not misbehave the entire day, sometimes, it just loops in restart cycle constantly for hours. I have to turn it off and on as it also freezes sometimes. CONCLUSION: Dish IPTV first generation Box are all glitchy piece of pig vomit.

ReplyDeleteToday I was thought for DISH TV or DISH IPTV. After reviewing whole blog I'm going for DISH TV. but lady for DISH IPTV was so persistance to go for DISH IPTV. She even created my account with my e-mail for sale, but there was no discount.
I cannot agree more that the service sucks with most of the channels as i see buffering, retrieving and service unavailable every now and then.I have it hard wired to my comcast box and still i have the above issues. I have complained numerous times. With all the testings and server switch form their side, it still remained the same. I was told that it might be the receiver box itself and they were suppose to ship me a new one. Last week when I called to follow up on that, I was told they have merged with ROKU and will be shipping out ROKU boxes to every customer for free (either wireless or wired) depending upon your current receiver. I did get an email from them with the new service information and a link to select the new receiver. Hoping ROKU might work, but found it bit strange that the box with wireless feature might not have the wired ethernet port? Does anyone know what kind or ROKU receiver model it might be? Has anybody already received it?
ReplyDeleteWhy would they switch to ROKU and make thousand of their own IPTV boxes obsolete door stoppers? It doesnt sink in. Changing boxes wont solve their server load problems. Seems their server is smoking pot around 9pm EST. At that time, either all channels say service unavailable, or the box goes into endless restart loop.
ReplyDeleteSadoon. I think 80% of the issue is the box itself. I can see the difference in my netbook X my appleTV streaming Netflix. the AppleTV won't choke, freeze or buffer. The netbook stops every 10 minutes or so and sometimes ther lag is terrible making the video very choppy.Same server, same internet connection.

ReplyDeleteLooks like they managed to resolve the buffering issue with Sony TV. For the past two days, its been working fine with no intermitent retrieving messages. I also did some black box testing by changing channels randomly and moving channels up and down, the buffering didn't come neither the Server not available error. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work this way.

I have ROKU, and use it to watch YUPPTV Kannada channels. The transmission is great and color and picture is like 1080P. I will order DISHIOP for hindi channels.
ReplyDeleteDont ever sign up for DISH IP TV. They initially agreed for set of channels(indian) and reduced 2 channels later. But the price was not reduced. Since you are in the contract, there is no way for you to disconnect.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the price that you sign up for is the price that you have to pay for the entire year even if the latest(current) price is $15 to $20 less than what you had signed up for.
I got the Roku box delivered today to replace my old box It's major improvement. Running for 12 hours with no issues at all. It's 10 X better than the old service.
ReplyDeleteJust got the Roku box yesterday. Setup was super easy. However at times I am noticing some buffering issues in spite of hard wiring the receiver. Also on one of the channels I noticed voice/video sync issues. For the most part however the upgrade works fine. Watched live cricket matches today on both Willow and Ten without any problem. Watched the entire recorded Fanaa movie last night without a problem. Opening the channel guide while watching TV is much easier with Roku. You can open any TV program and have it start from the beginning. Also there is the option of pausing a program. Will update if the occasional buffering issue deteriorates.

ReplyDelete@Anand - No idea when it was shipped. I was having some buffering issues over the weekend so I called Dishworld and they suggested that I reduce the network setting for the Dish World app to a lower number from "Unlimited". This seems to have helped quite a bit. The pauses/buffering has reduced a lot since however it still happens sometimes. However there are a few things I love about the Roku. You dont have to wait for 2 hours to watch an older program. You can be flipping through channels, like something you see and rewind the program right then and there. Its a very cool feature. In fact when you start any program, it will always ask if you want to watch Live or From beginning. Lasty I love the inbuilt Angry Birds game and the wii like motion sensor remote!!

ReplyDeleteI have just had a bad experience with watchindia.tv so being extra cautious.
So with no watchindia.tv or Dish IP TV what other option is there to watch Indian channels. I guess Comcast has a few Indian channels.
@Jayesh - Even I have observed squeezed videos for some of the channels. It looks really wierd for some of the channels like Willow cricket. However changing the aspect ratio from the Roku settings or adjusting the picture size on the TV seems to solve the issue.

ReplyDeletewell it turned out i haven't had any issues and since Roku arrived it has been even better, true the customer service sucks but i guess if you have good connection speed it will work anyways... I must admit my download speed is 20 MB and upload is around 5 meg, which surely helps...
I bought Roku2 XS and hooked it up yesterday. I have a linksys WRTG2(g router) and roku is connected on wireless. I see streaming problem. Do you think I should connect wired or buy a 'N' router ?

Absolutely HORRENDOUS service. I have been calling Dish IPTV for a month asking them to ship me new ROKU box. They always told me "you will receive it in 10 days". I still haven't gotten one. Finally when the original cheapo IPTV box was turned off by dish, i was furious and called them again. I missed the whole weekend of ethnic programming. This time around, they updated my account and said ROKU will be shipped this week. LIES. I told them I need wired box. However, with an intelligence of an tiny ant, they will likely ship me a wireless box. Any ways, if I don't get some sort of a box this week, I am cancelling my service. Their dept is very unorganized. Sometimes they put you on hold and come back late asking again whats the problem I am having. VERY DISSATISFIED!

ReplyDeleteRoku is a Roku. You can go to your local electronics store and get one. I got Roku 2 XS from Fry's electronics and signed up with DishNetwork, with the though if it did not work out, I could still return the Roku box. It has been a week and I ended up upgrading my package as the performance was better than expected. Roku upscales the video to 1080p. One of the most important consideration is the internet connection. I see that the Roku box says that the video is being streamed at 2 Mbps, which is quite good.
ReplyDeleteI think that most of the ISP's have some form of "throttling" that they deploy when a particular customer is using more internet then is deemed fit. Hence the issues.
ReplyDeleteI have been using Roku Dish IPTV for about 2 months now and it is awesome. I am using AT&T uverse 24Mbps. First of all it is 100x better then Neulion Dish IPTV.
ReplyDeleteThe channel guide and 48 hr rewind work perfectly and is 100% accurate. Video playback is more smoother experience and the quality is awesome. Private channels make the Roku box better and the UI is fast and snappy. You cannot do a software shut down so the box is designed to stay on and update firmware. If you have a HDTV you have to set it on 16:9 and then to 4:3 to make it work properly with no black boxes. Overall Dish IPTV with Roku is now worth it. Recently they have added family view, for an additional $10/month you can watch Dish on your PC/Mac-or can logout on your roku and watch on computer. I have tried this feature and the quality is 480i/p, it's not too great but one of the best legal solution. Its now a must buy along with roku.

I bought ROKU for $100 to watch dishworldiptv...i got 14 days trial free from dishtv...today was my 14th day...and guess what..For first 3-4 days I was able to watch dishtv with not so good service as it used to get hang in-between and start coming again after few hours, calling customer care never helped. It was very frustrating but still I was able to watch something. But after 3-4 days dishtv was totally gone, it always showed "Authorizing Content..." window. I used to call customer care daily 2-3 times they say its known issue and we are working to fix it..after few days no result but message got changed on my TV screen...and finally when I called today they asked me - do you want to cancel your subscription?? By this time you can guess what I would have answered.

ReplyDeleteI subscribed to the service in April 2013 and I am satisfied with the quality of service on Roku device. I like ability to play on demand, fast forward, resume etc..Zee tv is HD rest are 480p. I had no pixelation, freezing issues. I have verizon fios 15/5 connection and have 8 other devices connected to my network. I have not yet dealt with customer service but I am expecting it to be as bad as verizon.

ReplyDeleteThe quality is good , My internet speed is good too.. I use it in 3 different rooms and haven't see no concerns so far. Except one time where the Roku box was faulty and i had returned it after speaking directly to Roku..
I am currently using this service with ROKU 3. Satisfactory so far. It displays buffering messages, but that has more to do with the internet connection speed. Quality is okay, don't expect HD.

ReplyDeleteShifted from Comcast to Dishworld IP. This is one of the best decision I ever made. You get Star Plus and Zee TV in HD (1080p) Quality (Awesome). Other channels are in 480p, but quality is better than Comcast. Go for Roku 3 as its the latest one and has better hardware to prevent app crashes.

ReplyDeleteI just downloaded the DishWorld app for my pc instead of buying a Roku 3 and I must say that this is a very cool thing, you get lots of channels of every language all for one low price of 19.99 a month and they have a special for 14.95 a month. Anyways your experience may differ cause I have a custom computer with a 6 core Intel Core i7 CPU and a really high end Nvidia GTX 780 graphics card with the 3 gb's of GDDR5 ram so might computer may be better at playing video but at the same time I am confident this app will work good on most people's device granted you have good fast consistent internet.

They have pathetic service, Before getting I should have reviewed. but now no use... this idiots (dishworld) gave roku free for $89.94 for 4 months of subscription.... every 5 mins it goes for "sorry slow internet" and on their screen it says 4.8 mpbs how could be it slow then.. Checked ROKU - roku CC is amazing and very helpful.. but Dishworld iptv - worst - pathetic - poor - words are getting short for this service... and they claim to be No. 1 ....

ReplyDeleteI ordered last night (4/14/2014 @10.00 pm) ROKU-LT promoted by Dishworld. Next morning I thought it is not going to work for my setup and kind of channels I like to have in future, so I called Dishworld (877 811 4788). I requested to cancel the order. I spoke to even supervisor, but I was told the order can't be cancelled. This is within 15 hours I was making call and I get that reply. Order by not even shipped. The reason given for not cancelling is ridiculous.

Never ever use their service. They charged me $49.26 without even informing or sending any email. Even before month start and when I called them they said once charged can not be refunded.
ReplyDeleteI am a new customer, who signed up on April 16, 2014. Since the first day we have signed up, we have noticed that the program guide is not accurate. The show labeled on the on screen guide is not what comes on when you click on it. We notice this on both Asianet and Surya TV. And this occurs in both the dish app on the computer and on the Roku. This makes the service unusable, as you have to click on many several shows before eventually finding the show you want to watch. I talked to an agent today who said that they would have this fixed within three days, but I am not holding my breath.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to take a harsh tone, but if this is the kind of service that Dishworld is offering, it is tantamount to false advertising. I did not experience this problem when I took the 48 hour free trial (about a month ago), but now upon signing up, it is constantly present. Had I known the service was like this, I would not have signed up. Dishworld has essentially robbed me of approximately $15 (so far). I did not expect this low quality of service from the Dish brand.

BEWARE!! Dishworld keeps track of your devices even if you cancel the services. I have serious issues with this.

2) After cancellation I will have to be careful as not to store personal sensitive information on that device. Since Dishworld store details of my device they can misuse that information
3) They can sell my laptop details to other advertisers
3) I think it's illegal for a company to store device information of their customers after the contract is cancelled
When I questioned this practice the Manager 'David' was very brash about this. I am sure his name is not David. He is some due sitting in a Call Center in India
PS :The reason they say they keep track of your devices after cancellation of service is to prevent you for restarting services under a different name
